Penalties for Minors
Minors are penalized for purchase and possession of tobacco products.

If caught with tobacco, you could have a fabulous ride in this car. All your friends will be impressed.
Minors caught with tobacco must attend a tobacco awareness program or do tobacco-related community service. Failure to do either may result in suspension of minor's drivers license or face serious charges. Texas counties can add to the state laws making the local ordinances stronger.
Retailers
Retailers are also subject to penalties upon failure to adequately inform employees of the current law. The first offence is $500, the second one is $750, the third is $1,000 or 3-day permit suspension, and the fourth offense is permit revocation (reapply in six months).
Penalty for store clerk that sells tobacco to a minor that is a Class C misdemeanor punishable of a fine up to $500. Sales of cigarettes less than 20 per package (Kiddie Packs) are prohibited.
Advertising
Tobacco product outdoor advertising will be subject to a fee of ten percent of the gross sales price. Vending machines and self-service sales are restricted except in places not open to those under18 years of age.
